On October 11, 2021, Staff Attorney Brendan Bertig’s article, entitled “Pushing Forward: The Need for State-Based Protections Post-Bostock,” was published in Houston’s Legacy, the quarterly publication of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Minority Bar Committee. The article outlines the importance of passing legislation at the state level that would establish anti-discrimination protections for LGBTQ individuals in the contexts of education, housing, and public accommodations. The article was based on letters that the Commission recently submitted to key Pennsylvania legislators in support of pending legislation that would establish the same protections for which Mr. Bertig’s article advocates.
