On December 1, 2021, Executive Director Lisette McCormick submitted her article, “The Case for Jury Inclusiveness and Reform: The Pennsylvania Story,” to the American Bar Association (“ABA”), for publication in the ABA’s forthcoming Judges’ Journal on The Diverse Jury. The article details how the Interbranch Commission has worked to make jury inclusiveness a reality in Pennsylvania. It specifically emphasizes the Commission’s efforts to create a Statewide Juror List and its collaboration with judicial districts across the Commonwealth to collect juror demographic data and distribute a pamphlet on jury service designed to address the language barriers that Limited English Proficient individuals face when being considered for jury selection.
