On June 21, 2022, the Commission submitted a letter to the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, requesting amendment of PA Rule of Criminal Procedure 632 to explicitly permit judicial districts to collect aggregated juror demographic data and to expand the demographic classifications on Rule 632’s existing Juror Information Questionnaire. The Commission submitted the letter in response to its finding that some of Pennsylvania’s judicial districts do not collect or analyze juror demographic data because they believe they are not permitted to do so or otherwise lack guidance on how to properly collect such data.
